BOARD

The Board defines strategy the overall strategy of the Nigerian Youth Union, it advises the organization in accordance with the constitution/guidelines given by member organizations at the general convention or the National Executive Council. The members of the Board are drawn from the six(6) geopolitical zones in Nigeria.

Consultative Body On Membership Application

The Consultative Body On Membership Application reviews the complete application of potential members and presents a motivated report on the membership applications to the National Executive Council. CBMA is Formed within the existing members and take initiatives in relation to proposed or adopted changes relevant to membership status, such as change of status and/or legal status.

Financial Control Unit

The Financial Control Unit is responsible for the internal audit of the finances of Nigerian Youth Union. It shall act in advisory capacity to the board , National Executive Council, and General Convention on the allocation of existing resources in line with the strategic priorities and the work plan, as well the identification of new resources.

It will present a written report to the National Executive Council and General Convention, in regard to the annual budget and account of the Union.

National Executive Council

NEC comprises of fifteen(15) members. The National President presides over the National Executive Council.

NEC through the National President of the Union, derives her powers through the Union’s Constitution.

Secretariat

The Secretariat is the structure where administrative affairs of the Union takes place. It is composed of employees under the supervision of the Secretary General.  The Secretary General is accountable for the Secretariat to the National President.

Zonal Executive Council

The Zonal Executive Council takes directives/brief from the National Executive Council and Constitutional provisions.

Each of the six(6) geopolitical zone in Nigeria has Zonal Executive Council headed by a Zonal Coordinator.

State Executive Council

The thirty six(36) states and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) all have State Executive Council. The SEC reports to the Zone.

Local Government Area Executives

The seven hundred and seventy four(774) Local Government Areas in Nigeria have Executive Council each. They report to the National Executive Council.

Community Service

The Community Service comprises of Members, Volunteers, Member Organizations, and Partners who work towards the actualization of NYU’s visions and programs.
